Dasatinib is Sprycel.....and there is a whole separate discussion list on this drug. Yes, it is expensive, might cost more than Gleevec. This is not a new drug.....I was on it for over 4 years. Some people have problems with pleural effusion on this drug but others do not.

Ask him specifically why he thinks you need to change drugs and WHAT signs there are that you are getting resistant. Don't just accept what a doctor says without him showing you the 'facts'....the lab work etc showing what he is saying. Is your pcr going up significantly? or any other changes in bloodwork?
